The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) President/CEO Gary “Litefoot” Davis traveled to our nation’s capital to attend a Business Leaders in Indian Country Forum that was held at the White House on September 27, 2012.
The forum focused on the Obama Administration’s programs and initiatives for American Indian and Alaska Native business leaders facing the unique challenges of doing business in Indian Country. The policy review sessions were led by senior White House and Agency officials who discussed the tools and resources available from the Department of Commerce, Small Business Administration, Department of State, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, and other agencies. The forum also included collaboration sessions on a variety of topics to encourage dialogue among business leaders to spur economic development and enhance economic activity and investment.
Davis participated in two key sessions: a session focusing on the NCAIED’s Native American Global Trade Center (NAGTC) and the Globalization of Indian Country and another session with Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Director David Hinson regarding the NCAIED spearheading a national corporate internship program.
